I know I failed miserably to keep up with players I've played with at the World Series this summer, but a player I've played with is in the news today. Kurt Jewell won the WSOP Circuit event in Hammond, Indiana. He was also the winner of the Borgata Open event I played in last September. This is the first event he's won since then, although he had a few cashes.
I honestly don't remember all that much about him. We played at the same table for about 45 minutes when there were two tables playing. He was two to my left in the big blind when I was on the button. He had a massive stack the whole time I was at the table and he seemed really quiet. The last might have been just perception since the guy between us was very chatty. I don't think we played any significant hands together. I can't even remember seeing a flop with him. Either he folded to my raises on the button or there was a lot of action ahead of me so I wasn't in the hand. It was a pretty tight table.
Anyway, Congratulations to Kurt Jewell on winning the WSOPC event. I'll be cheering for you to win the National Championship as well.
